Illegal island entry – three detained.

(RAPF Release) – In the early hours of Saturday, 10th July 2021 the Royal Anguilla Police Force were notified that a possible breach of border controls had taken place and that a person had entered Anguilla illegally.

Police officers responded and detained three persons. Only one person had entered the island illegally, it is believed the other two persons may have assisted or had contact with the illegal immigrant.

They are all currently detained in HMP West, the secure quarantine facility.

A Covid test on the person who entered the island illegally has now shown a negative result.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. David Lynch said: ‘I am very grateful to members of the public for notifying the Police force of the possible breach, this has now led to the detention of three persons. The Royal Anguilla Police Force, the Health Authority and the Immigration Department will now deal with this matter. I would ask anyone who sees any persons entering, or trying to enter Anguilla illegally, to please call the Police Station via telephone number 497- 2333 /5333 so that we can protect everyone from the threat of Covid 19’.
