RAPF records 5th Homicide in 2019 for Anguilla

According to the Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF), an investigation is currently ongoing into the circumstances involving the tragic death of 27 year old Taitu Goodwin which occurred at approximately 4:30am on the morning of Monday, September 9, 2019 in the Windward Point Area. Police has reportedly taken into custody a 22 yr old male, described by the victim’s father in a radio interview, as her estranged boyfriend. 

Taitu Goodwin was crown Miss Anguilla in 2012, and according to her father, Ambassador Bruce Goodwin in an interview on ABS tv in Antigua, she was an accomplished professional, who served as a teacher and was subsequently trained in the legal field. He called on her killer to be given the death penalty, and said that since her separation from the accused about a year ago, she had been stalked and that the details of her death were too gruesome for him to discuss. 

The RAPF says that a family liason officer has been assigned to work with the family of the deceased. They also took the opportunity to express their condolences to the family and friends who are bereaved as a result of this unfortunate incident.
