The Valley – Five Fourth Form students of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School (ALHCS) distinguished themselves at Anguilla’s National Youth Congress, held on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 at Blue Ridge. The event was organised to select a Representative and an Alternate to participate in the 2026 Caribbean Youth Tourism Congress, which will take place in Guyana from 5–9 October 2026. The winner will also serve as Anguilla’s Junior Tourism Minister for the 2026–2027 term.
The Congress provided an excellent platform for the participating students—Amarni Webster, Kyshaun Connor, L’Qree Hodge, Nicalleah Millington, and Reanne Richardson—to present tourism projects, respond to a mystery tourism question, and engage with industry partners. Throughout the event, the students demonstrated analytical thinking and solution-focused creativity, effectively bridging classroom learning with local and global tourism realities.

Participants were assessed across all components of the competition, and in a closely contested finish—separated by just one point—Amarni Webster emerged as the Winner, with Reanne Richardson named Alternate.

The National Youth Tourism Congress is open to students across Anguilla between the ages of 14 and 17 and offers a valuable opportunity for young people to serve as ambassadors for the island. In 2025, Anguilla was represented by Ms. Aiyah Jones of the Omololu International School. The regional congress was held in Barbados, with Tobago taking top honours.
The Department of Education is pleased to confirm its continued sponsorship of the National Youth Tourism Congress in the amount of USD $2,000 for the second consecutive year and extends congratulations to the five Fourth Form students for their outstanding performance.
